The National Alliance for Volunteer Engagement is a cross-sector coalition of entity leaders, funders, professionals, researchers, consultants, and Volunteers who share the same desired outcome, as expressed in the mission of The Alliance:
To guide and inspire collective action towards embracing Volunteer Engagement as a key strategy for driving positive community change.
The Alliance envisions a future when Volunteer Engagement is embraced across sectors as a core strategy for expanding impact and maximizing organizational effectiveness towards mission accomplishment.
Central to that vision is a world in which organizational leaders prioritize Volunteer Engagement as a key strategy for capacity building and community strength, and in which philanthropic organizations support grantees in strategically deploying this renewable human capital.
Just as non-profit entities and funders consider diversity, strategic planning, and evaluation as model practices, for example, The Alliance seeks to similarly elevate Volunteer Engagement to a standard principle and practice expected by organizations and funders alike.
